Meghalaya: Shops in East Khasi Hills to remain open till 8pm

SHILLONG: As Meghlaya continues to witness a decline in COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo issued further relaxations in the city from Saturday onwards.

SHILLONG: As Meghlaya continues to witness a decline in COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo issued further relaxations in the city from Saturday onwards.

According to an official statement, all shops have been allowed to function till 8 pm between Mondays and Saturdays.

Meanwhile, restaurants, cafes, takeaway services, etc, have been directed to close by 9 pm.

While salons/beauty parlors and gymnasiums have been directed to function till 8 pm, home delivery services have been permitted only during curfew relaxation hours.

Meghalaya on Friday reported 121 new cases of COVID-19 taking the active cases to 1326. 74 more recoveries surged the number of recovered cases to 79542. The deaths due to COVID-19 related complications of two unvaccinated person increased the death toll to 1415.
