Mizoram: NEC Secretary holds meeting with CM Zoramthanga, discuss state’s economic development

AIZAWL: North Eastern Council (NEC) Secretary K. Moses Chalai held a meeting with Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga today at the latter’s office at McDonald Hill. Chalai was accompanied by L. Beimopha, Dy. Secretary and Mehir Dey, Senior PS.

Chalai and Zoramthanga discussed the economic development issues pertaining to the whole of North east and Mizoram in particular.

According to sources, The NEC Secretary commented that Mizoram is performing quite well with the various NEC funded projects under different departments.

Earlier on August 13, Mizoram CM inaugurated inaugurated the completed portion of a 84.50-kmlong upgraded road linking the state with neighbouring Tripura and Assam.

The improvement and upgrade of Khedacherra-Damcherra-Zamuang-Kawrthah-Tuilitkawn (KDZKT) road from a single lane to intermediate lane was approved and sanctioned by the North Eastern Council (NEC) in January, 2013.
