MANIPUR: SHIRUI FESTIVAL CONTINUES TO ATTRACT TOURISTS

The Shirui Lily Festival, 2018 began at Shirui Local Ground showcasing different form of traditional dances with flavours from singers and musicians along with the beginning of the first ever ‘ShiChef Season 1.0’ today.

A dance group from Ukhrul marked the opening of today’s function followed by the Maibi and Thougal Jagoi by artistes of Government Dance College. Artistes from the state of Assam also performed the famous Jhumur Dance.Cultural troupe from Phaibung village presented a traditional dance and State Shumang Leela Council presented a Shumang Leela, a traditional art form of Manipur. Competitions on Folk Songs were also held with refreshing light music by the local singers and musicians.
