GUWAHATI: Sikkim's governor Ganga Prasad Chaurasia has tested positive for the novel coronavirus today, he revealed via a post on social media platform Facebook.
The Governor, who took over in 2018 from Shriniwas Dadasaheb Patil, said that he was having mild symptoms and tested positive for the COVID-19 today.
"I request everyone who came in close contact with me over the last few days to isolate themselves and get tested. I am stable and under su[ervision of doctor at home isolation," he added.

One COVID-19 death was reported from the STNM Hospital in Sikkim on Tuesday, with a 40-year-old male from Sichey as the latest casualty.
In all, the state recorded 97 new COVID-19 cases, taking the active cases tally to 982 with 40 recoveries recorded on Tuesday. The state has cumulatively accounted for 7,426 cases so far.
