After a long hiatus of over a decade, the Final Destination franchise is set to make its much-anticipated return to the big screen with Final Destination Bloodlines. Warner Bros. has released the first promotional materials for the film, which is set to hit theaters and IMAX on May 16, 2025. The Final Destination series has been synonymous with inventive and often gruesome death scenes, where the characters find themselves helplessly battling against a mysterious force — "Death" itself — after narrowly escaping a deadly accident. The latest entry, Bloodlines, looks to stay true to the franchise's roots, offering a chilling new chapter in the saga.

Final Destination Bloodlines centers on Stefanie (played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana), a young woman who is determined to uncover the identity of the one person who may be able to stop the deadly cycle that has plagued her family. For years, her relatives have met untimely, horrific ends, seemingly by fate’s design. In her pursuit, Stefanie seeks to stop the bloodline of doom and prevent any more tragic deaths, while uncovering deeper mysteries surrounding her family’s dark past.

As is customary with the Final Destination films, danger lurks around every corner, and viewers can expect a relentless buildup of suspense and tension as Stefanie’s search takes a darker turn. The movie appears to explore not just the terrifying inevitability of death, but also the desperate lengths to which people will go to break the chain of fate.

Joining Kaitlyn Santa Juana in the lead role is an ensemble cast of talented actors, including Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and the late Tony Todd, who returns to the franchise for what may be his final appearance. Tony Todd, who became synonymous with the series due to his portrayal of the mysterious and terrifying figure of "The Coroner" in the previous films, will once again bring his trademark gravitas and presence to the screen, adding an extra layer of dread and mystery.

Fans will be particularly intrigued by the return of Tony Todd, whose character has always held a cryptic and ominous role in the series. Though Todd’s appearance in Final Destination Bloodlines is bittersweet due to his passing, his legacy within the franchise remains an essential part of its identity.

Taking the reins of the sixth film in the Final Destination series is the directing duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. Known for their work in genre filmmaking, the two directors are no strangers to the horror and thriller genres, having previously collaborated on projects such as Freaks and Tusk. Their unique approach to horror is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the Final Destination universe while staying true to the series' signature tension-building and shocking death scenes.

Fans of the franchise will likely appreciate Lipovsky and Stein's ability to blend disturbing imagery with a compelling narrative, allowing for an emotional investment in the characters before their inevitable fates unfold in the most horrifying ways.
