'Saiyaara' has recorded the biggest opening weekend for a Bollywood romantic film. The YRF biggie has also surpassed the first weekend collection of 'Kabir Singh', which held the record for being the biggest romantic Hindi film so far. Offering Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda a stunning debut, the film earned around Rs 37 crore nett on its first Sunday.
The Mohit Suri-directorial opened at Rs 21 crore after registering massive traction during its advance booking. However, as the word-of-mouth grew, 'Saiyaara' had a fabulous Saturday, and finished its opening weekend run at Rs 83 crore nett.
The newly released film Saiyaara has made a strong start at the Indian box office, outperforming Shahid Kapoor’s blockbuster Kabir Singh in its opening weekend. According to Sacnilk, Saiyaara earned Rs 21 crore on Friday, Rs 25 crore on Saturday, and Rs 37 crore on Sunday, bringing its three-day nett total to an impressive Rs 83 crore.
In comparison, Kabir Singh, which also enjoyed a successful debut, collected Rs 70.83 crore in its first weekend with Rs 20.21 crore on Friday, Rs 22.71 crore on Saturday, and Rs 27.91 crore on Sunday. Saiyaara's superior numbers signal strong audience reception and position it as one of the biggest openers in recent times
'Saiyaara' is on its way to a blockbuster run at the ticket window. It's been years since a true blue Bollywood love story took over the screens, entertained the masses, and recorded terrific numbers.
The YRF film is changing all of that, setting new benchmarks for the entire film industry to follow, and offering a wonderful time to the audience in theatres.
The film's music has already crawled up the chartbusters list, and as 'Saiyaara' enters its first week today, more records are expected to be broken at the box office.
