Northeast International Documentary and Film Festival returns for a grand 3rd edition in Guwahati

Guwahati is set to witness an extraordinary cinematic extravaganza as the Northeast International Documentary and Film Festival (NIDFF) returns for its much-anticipated 3rd edition. Scheduled to take place from December 13 to 15, 2025, at the iconic Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio, NIDFF continues to be a prestigious platform that celebrates the art of storytelling through films while highlighting the diverse and rich cultural heritage of Northeast India.

Organized by Redcardinal Motion Pictures and AGCS Akhara Ghar Cine Society, the festival has cemented its place as a hub for filmmakers, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts, offering them an opportunity for creative exchange and recognition.

The 3rd edition of NIDFF promises to be grander than ever, bringing together filmmakers from across the globe. Some of the key highlights include:
Competitive Categories: Showcasing Short Films, Feature Films, Documentary Shorts, and Documentary Features

Special segments: A dedicated Northeast India Special Category and Northeast Indian Filmmakers’ Pavilion to highlight regional talent

Cultural exchange & Film Tourism: An initiative to explore the vibrant cultural heritage of Northeast India through cinema

NIDFF is more than just a film festival; it is a movement to preserve Northeast India’s cultural heritage, promote film tourism, and support emerging filmmakers. By providing a global platform for regional storytelling, the festival acts as a bridge between Northeast Indian cinema and the international film industry.

Submissions Now Open – Don’t Miss Out!
Filmmakers from around the world can now submit their work to NIDFF 2025. An early-bird discount is available for submissions made by June 30, 2025, while the final submission deadline is October 31, 2025.
