Russian President Putin to get COVID-19 vaccine shot

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday announced to receive the Sputnik V vaccination against the novel Coronavirus.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov while addressing the media informed that the President has made the decision to get vaccinated and was waiting until all formalities are completed.

Russia launched a voluntary vaccination programme with the Russia-made COVID-19 vaccine—Sputnik V earlier this December, starting off with the most vulnerable groups in Moscow.

It was informed that People over the age of 60 may begin to apply for the shots of vaccination on Monday.

Russian President, Putin earlier said that the Russian vaccine was effective and safe and he saw no reason not to get the shot, further adding that he was waiting for it to become available.
