Watch: “Sare Jahan Se Accha” plays at White House

The White House’s Marine Band played popular Indian patriotic song “Sare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara” at a reception celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month.

Hosted by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the event also featured the presence of Indian delicacies. Famous street food items such as golgappa (pani puri) and khoya (sweetmeat) was available for the attendees to devour.

Many Indian Americans were present at the annual event. 

Interestingly, as per news agencies, the song which was written by Mohammad Iqbal during India’s Independence struggle was played twice at the request of Indian Americans invited by the president for the annual event.
