Manipur administration withdraws Section 144 CrPC in state

Guwahati, February 13, 2019:

The District Administration of Imphal West on Wednesday has withdrawn the curfew imposed in the scheduled areas of the district.

District Magistrate, Naorem Praveen Singh has issued the withdrawal order of the Section 144 CrPC in the district that prohibited assembling of people or staging protests that can disturb the peace and tranquillity in the region after protests over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 had rocked the state of Manipur.

It is to be mentioned that the District Magistrate has imposed Section 144 CrPC on February 11.
