Manipur: Full-day curfew clamped in 7 districts to contain the surge of COVID-19

IMPHAL: The Manipur government has enforced a complete curfew in its seven districts effective from Saturday onwards to contain the surge of COVID-19 virus and will be in force till May 17.

Districts to be under complete curfew are Thoubal, Imphal West, Imphal East, Ukhrul, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, and Kakching.

For the rest of the state night, a curfew from & pm to 5 am will remain as it was.

The government permitted activities such as healthcare, essential services, and goods vehicles will be allowed in the state.

Meanwhile, Imphal airport will remain open.

Manipur reported the highest-ever single-day surge in COVID-19 positive cases as 600 new people found positive on Friday.
