MANIPUR: TAMENGLONG LANDSLIDES KILLED 9 AND 2 STILL UNTRACEABLE

Nine people mostly children have been killed by massive landslides occurred in three different places of Tamenglong town in early hours today.

5 children of the same parents killed in New Salem, Tamenglong ward no. 4, another two children of the same parents were also carried away by muddy water while the family was in a deep sleep. A mother- son duo was also killed when their house in Neigailuang, Tamenglong ward no. 2 was swept away by the slide.

Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong, Ravinder Singh said that the district police and the district administration are in a war footing to recover the two remaining bodies in Ramgailong, Tamenglong ward number 3.
