Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen on May 4 led a victory gathering at the BJP Sadar Hills office in Kangpokpi, marking the party’s electoral gains across Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry.
Senior leaders and local functionaries, including Paokam Haokip, Thangjamang Kipgen and Lunseh Kipgen, attended the event alongside party workers. The gathering drew a large turnout, with supporters raising slogans and celebrating the results.
Addressing the meeting, Kipgen said the outcome signalled a clear public mandate in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She described the results as a “decisive rejection of divisive and opportunistic politics” and an endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“The sweeping and emphatic victory… is a decisive rejection of divisive, opportunistic politics and a thunderous endorsement of bold, result-driven leadership,” she said.
Calling the mandate historic, she added that voters had chosen “development, stability and nationalism” over “fear, appeasement and empty promises”. The results, she said, reflected support for governance focused on delivery and transparency.
Kipgen also congratulated the party’s national leadership, including BJP president Nitin Nabin, and credited grassroots workers for their role in the outcome. Their “relentless commitment on the ground has turned conviction into a resounding mandate”, she said.
Framing the verdict as ideological, she argued that “the politics of performance will always triumph over the politics of propaganda”. She added that the results should serve as a warning to those “who seek to divide and mislead”.
Party leaders present said the outcome underlined the BJP’s growing presence across regions and pointed to coordinated efforts at the national and state levels.
The programme ended with a renewed call for strengthening organisational work at the grassroots and sustaining the party’s electoral momentum.
