A shocking video has emerged from Manipur, revealing disturbing scenes of mutilated bodies in a Meitei village. Initial reports indicate that the video is dated between June 18 to 19 , during which Kuki militants allegedly carried out a ruthless attack on households in the Serou Sugnu area of Kakching district.
This horrifying incident comes in the wake of previous violence in Thoubal district and now extends to Kakching district.
Earlier, intermittent firing ensued on the intervening night of June 18 after miscreants resorted to unprovoked firing from Kanto Sabal towards Chingmang village, injuring one army personnel in the ensuing firing, according to sources.
Army columns resorted to controlled retaliatory fire keeping in view the presence of villagers in the area. One army personnel sustained gunshot wounds and was immediately evacuated and shifted to Military Hospital Leimakhong. His condition was reported to be stable.
Earlier on June 19, Manipur CM N Biren Singh's appealed to the Meiteis with arms not to attack and maintain peace so that peace can be restored in the hill state.
Speaking to the media, Biren Singh said, "I appeal to the Meitei people who are with arms not to attack anything and maintain peace and harmony so that we can resort to normalcy in the state of Manipur."
