The Kangpokpi Christian Church (KCC) marked its Ruby Jubilee, commemorating 40 years of spiritual journey, perseverance and growth, at its campus in Gamhoi Veng under the theme “This Far the Lord Has Helped Us.”
The celebration drew a large congregation of believers, church leaders and well-wishers, symbolising four decades of faith and service. Church leaders highlighted the biblical significance of the number 40, describing it as a period associated in scripture with testing, preparation and fulfilment. They noted that the church’s four-decade journey reflects that spiritual pattern of endurance and renewal.
Dr. T. Lunkim, Administrative Secretary of the Kuki Christian Church (Assembly), attended the event as Chief Guest and unveiled the Jubilee Monolith, symbolising steadfast faith and continuity. The monolith was dedicated by Pastor Nehcha Chongloi. A Jubilee balloon release ceremony was also held to mark the beginning of a new chapter.
The programme began with the blowing of Pheiphit, a traditional Kuki wind instrument signifying honour and welcome, performed by Kangpokpi Christian Upate (KCU). The first session concluded with Vakol Lam, a traditional folk dance presented by Kangpokpi Christian Khangthahte (KCK), reflecting the integration of cultural heritage and Christian faith.
A condolence service led by Rev. J. Lunkim paid tribute to departed leaders and members whose contributions shaped the church’s history.
Delivering the keynote address, KCC Secretary Chungminthang Thangeo described the 40-year milestone as a testimony to perseverance through challenges. He said the church’s journey reflects spiritual preparation preceding fulfilment.
A commemorative Jubilee Souvenir honouring pastors, elders, missionaries and members was released by Dr. T. Lunkim and dedicated by Dr. Hemkhochon Chongloi, Principal of Trulock Theological Seminary. The publication acknowledges the contributions of those who have supported the church’s mission over the years.
Dr. Satkhokai Chongloi, Assistant Executive Secretary of KCC Manipur Synod, delivered the Jubilee Homily, encouraging believers to remain steadfast as the church moves forward in its mission. The celebration concluded with a blessing prayer led by the Chief Guest.
The Ruby Jubilee marked not only an anniversary but also a reaffirmation of faith, unity and commitment as the church enters its next phase of service.
