A state-level mock drill aimed at enhancing civil defence preparedness was successfully conducted in Imphal today under the aegis of the Imphal West district administration.
The exercise brought together a wide array of key stakeholders, including departments from Home, Police, Fire Service, Civil Defence, Health, Education, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), the State Museum, Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), and the Relief and Disaster Management Authority.
As part of the comprehensive drill, multiple staging areas were set up across the city to simulate various emergency response scenarios. These included Johnstone Higher Secondary School, State Museum, BT Park, Polo Ground (Mapal Kangjeibung), and the Directorate of Fire Service. The coordinated effort tested the readiness and synergy of government agencies and first responders in managing potential disaster situations.
