The lifeless bodies of three victims, allegedly brutally killed while asleep in their homes, have been carried back to their hometown of Bishnupur for their final rites. The victims, Yumnam Pishak, 70, Yumnam Jiten, 52, and Yumnam Premkumar, 38, including a Manipur police, fell victim to a horrific attack reportedly orchestrated by Kuki armed miscreants in Kwakta Municipal Council Ward Number 8 under Bishnupur district.
Since the grim incident occurred on August 5, the deceased individuals' bodies had remained in the mortuary of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences. The Joint Action Committee (JAC), formed in response to the brutal killings, staunchly refused to relinquish the lifeless bodies until their demands for justice and security were met by the state government.
However, after intensive negotiations between the government and the JAC, an understanding was reached, prompting the transportation of the victims' mortal remains for their final journey home. The victims' families and the community at large had been calling for stringent action against those responsible for the heinous act.
