Manipur's class 12 results show 92.23 per cent pass rate amid challenges

The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM), has announced the class 12 exam results, recording an overall pass percentage of 92.23 per cent. Out of 31,530 enrolled students, 31,259 appeared, with 28,829 passing—a slight dip from 94 per cent in the 2024-25 academic year.
This year's declaration arrives promptly despite ongoing difficulties in the state, underscoring the education department's commitment to timely assessments.
Science stream toppers include Takhellambam Kalpana from Comet School and Yohen Longjam from Comprehensive Concept School, both scoring 490 marks. Pebam Taibanganba Mangang from Millennium Institute of Sciences secured second place, while Keithellakpam Wynona Devi from Comet School took third with 480.
Government schools dominated commerce, with Thoihenba Thongam from CC Higher Secondary School leading at 454 marks. Haorongbam Keniya Devi from TG Higher Secondary School followed in second with 433, and Athokpam Deny from CC Higher Secondary School claimed third at 431.
In arts, Sarangthem Ayingbi Chanu from Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School topped with 470 marks. Pushpa Kakchingtabam from TG Higher Secondary School earned second place with 456, and Cheshabam Nurmiya from Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School took third with 452.
Commissioner of Education (S), Ningthoujam Geoffrey, congratulated all appearing students and wished them success ahead. He described class 12 as a pivotal milestone and praised COHSEM for delivering results on schedule during tough times in Manipur.
