Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, on June 20, launched ‘Mission Aman’ A’song, an advanced land management and revenue administration system aimed at streamlining land governance in the Garo Hills region.
The initiative falls under the jurisdiction of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
As part of the mission, A’king land under the GHADC will be surveyed, mapped, and digitised to improve transparency and record-keeping.
The project will also include the mapping of privately owned lands to clearly demarcate boundaries and reduce land disputes.
Lauding the move, the chief minister congratulated the GHADC for taking a "remarkable step" that he said would go a long way in protecting land rights and ensuring better land governance in the region.
Earlier, on June 19, CM Sangma laid the foundation for the Additional Secretariat Complex in Tura, a historic moment for Garo Hills and the state.
This Rs 156 Crore project fulfils a long-standing dream to bring governance closer to the people. Once completed, it will ensure most Govt. services are accessible right here in Tura.
