US Ambassador Sergio Gor arrives in Imphal, visits Kangla, Ema Keithel

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor arrived in Imphal on September 11 and visited two of Manipur's prominent landmarks — the historic Kangla Fort and Khwairamband Ema Keithel, the iconic women-run market in the heart of Imphal.

Gor is scheduled to meet Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla later in the evening.

According to sources, the ambassador is expected to meet Chief Minister Khemchand at around 5.15 pm, followed by a meeting with Governor Bhalla at around 5.45 pm.

Gor is currently at the Classic Grande in Chingmeirong, near Imphal, sources said.

The US ambassador is also expected to spend the night at Sendra, near Loktak Lake in Moirang, as part of his Manipur visit.

The visit is being conducted amid tight security arrangements, with media access restricted at the scheduled engagements.
