    At least 322 people died of HIV/AIDS in Mizoram in 2017, a 30.1 per cent increase over the death toll in 2016-2017. In 2016-17, 225 people died of HIV/AIDS while 139 people died in 2015-16. Altogether 1,662 people have died since 2013.

    With over 14,000 people living in the state with the disease, Mizoram registers the second highest AIDS incidence in the country.
