The Nagaland government on Friday issued a single standard operating procedure on lockdown for strict implementation throughout the state with effect from August 1 to August 31.
The state government on Thursday announced extension of the ongoing lockdown in the wake of surge in Covid-19 positive cases in the state.
In an order, chief secretary Temjen Toy said the inter-state border will continue to remain sealed and any inbound traveler/returnee will be allowed to enter the state only through Dimapur by train, air and by road via New Field check gate and Dillai gate. Other entry points by road are Khuzama, Kohima district, Tsutapela and Watiyongpang, Mokokchung district, Naginimora and Tizit, Mon district, and Bhandari, Wokha district. Entry into the state through any other route or by any other mode of travel will not be allowed except under special circumstances with the approval of the home department.
The movement of goods vehicles entering or transiting through the state will be allowed through these entry points. All other roads will remain closed.
The international border with Myanmar will continue to remain closed as before.
Inter-district movement of commercial passenger vehicles will remain barred except vehicles carrying goods. Taxis and auto rickshaws will be permitted to ply with the condition that they carry only two and one passenger respectively. Movement of passenger buses like city buses will continue to be prohibited.

Shops and outlets of all categories and departmental stores will be allowed to open as per normal hours. Hawker stalls located in crowded areas and market complexes which offer no scope for enforcing social distancing like Hongkong Market and New Market in Dimapur and BOC Market in Kohima will remain closed except those shops/outlets dealing with food grains, vegetables, food items, medicines and other essential items.
The order said deputy commissioners will identify such areas/marker complexes and issue suitable ordersnin this regard.
Other lockdown measures will remain the same as before.
Total lockdown in Kohima extended till Aug 7
The Kohima district task force at an emergency meeting on Friday extended total lockdown of the Kohima municipal area under Kohima Sadar for another week till August 7.
Kohima deputy commissioner Gregory Thejawelie, in an order, said all the provisions of the total lockdown order dated July 23 will be in force.
The district task force imposed total lockdown of Kohima municipal area for a week on July 25 to July 31.
Partial lockdown in Dimapur town from Aug 3
The Dimapur district task force on Friday decided to lift the total lockdown in Dimapur town. However, it will be under partial lockdown from August 3.
The district task force imposed total lockdown in the town from July 26 to August 2.
During the partial lockdown, shops selling essential commodities will be allowed to open from 9am to 2pm and medicine shops as usual.
The odd-even system of vehicular movement will continue.
