Army Officer and Soldier martyred in an IED explosion at Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, January 12, 2019: Jammu and Kashmir

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion took place on Friday near Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera Sector in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in which an Army Officer and a soldier got grievously injured and succumbed to the injuries.

Major Shashi Dharan V Nair, 2/1 GR, 121 Regiment was martyred in an IED blast and his dead remains have been airlifted to Pune from Jammu Kashmir. Rifleman Jiwan Gurung’s dead remains have been airlifted to Darjeeling, West Bengal.

In another incident of unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan troops in Sunderbani Sector, an Army Porter named Sh Hemraj was also martyrs.
