DSP martyred and one militant killed in Jammu and Kashmir encounter

Guwahati, February 24, 2019:

One terrorist was killed and a jawan was martyred during a crossfire which broke out between jawans and militants in Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday. The martyred has been identified as Aman Thakur, DSP of operations. According to reports, another soldier has been critically wounded and has been shifted to a nearby hospital.

The encounter broke out in Tuligam of Kulgan district after authorities had conducted a search-and-cordon operation in the area after being intimated about the presence of militants in the area. It has been reported that the militants opened fire first and the army retaliated, which led to a gunfight.
