The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rejected the Union government’s plea to execute the four convicts of the gruesome Nirbhaya rape and murder case and said that all the four had to be hanged together for the “Delhi Crime” on December 16, 2012.

The trial court on January 7, had ordered the execution of all the four convicts in Tihar Jail at 7 AM on January 22. On January 31, the trial court again stayed the hanging as the counsel for three convicts, Pawan, Vinay and Akshay, urged it to suspend the matter saying their legal remedies were yet to be exhausted. However, today, the Delhi High Court gave them seven days’ time to exhaust all their legal remedies.
