Saqib Bilal, who had acted in Bollywood movie ‘Haider’ and also in plays, was shot dead after an 18-hour encounter with security forces in Mujgund, on the outskirts of capital Srinagar.
Bilal was killed along with another boy from Hajin Banjipora and a Pakistani militant from the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Bilal had run away from home in August with another boy. According to police reports, the two runaways had joined militancy shortly after running away.
The teen had passed his tenth exams with distinction and has plans to join engineering before. His acting credits consist of two brief scenes in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Haider’ and he had also acted in theatre.
