Union Home Minister Amit Shah officially launched the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme by unveiling dedicated counters at Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport. The launch marks a major milestone in the modernization of India's immigration services.
Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi has become the first airport in India to introduce the Government of India’s Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) for Indian passport holders and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. The innovative program aims to streamline the immigration process, reducing wait times and enhancing the travel experience for eligible travelers.
The FTI-TTP is designed to expedite the immigration clearance process for pre-approved, low-risk travelers. Eligible individuals can now benefit from faster processing times at dedicated counters, ensuring a smoother and more efficient journey through one of India’s busiest airports.
The implementation of this program at IGIA is expected to significantly reduce congestion at immigration counters, particularly during peak travel periods. It also underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of its border control measures while maintaining high-security standards.
Travelers who qualify for the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme can expect a range of benefits, including shorter wait times, dedicated service counters, and a more streamlined overall experience. The program is part of a broader effort to adopt advanced technologies and processes to facilitate travel and improve passenger satisfaction.
The introduction of FTI-TTP at IGIA is seen as a pilot initiative, with plans to extend the program to other major airports across the country in the future.
As the first airport in India to implement this program, IGIA is set to lead the way in transforming the country's immigration process, making it more efficient and passenger-centric.
