Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday accused the central government of deliberately evading parliamentary debate on several pressing national issues.
Speaking to reporters outside the Lok Sabha, Gogoi said, “The government is misleading the House. They don't want to have a discussion on the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) in Bihar.”
He further criticised the government’s lack of transparency regarding two recent national security incidents.
“The government has given no clarity regarding when there will be a discussion on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terrorist attack,” he said, questioning whether the government was prepared to allow a full debate on both matters.

“These are critical issues affecting national security and electoral integrity. The House deserves answers, and the people of India deserve accountability,” Gogoi added.
The Congress MP’s remarks come amid a series of opposition demands for time-bound discussions on matters of national concern, which they claim are being sidestepped by the ruling BJP-led government.
