Ahead of a crucial meeting of the Opposition's INDIA bloc, Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam said alliance partners would deliberate on important issues concerning coordination within the coalition and its future political strategy.
Speaking on the upcoming meeting, Akoijam said the primary focus would be on reviewing the alliance's course of action and strengthening cooperation among constituent parties. He indicated that discussions would centre on key organisational and political matters as the bloc prepares for future challenges.
Referring to recent political developments, the Congress MP described setbacks faced by the alliance in states such as Assam as temporary in nature. Expressing confidence in the coalition's prospects, he said the INDIA bloc would recover from these reverses and continue to strengthen its political position.
Akoijam also voiced concern over a worsening crisis affecting several regions, stating that the situation had expanded beyond its original scope and was increasingly impacting peripheral districts. He said more communities were becoming entangled in the crisis, making the situation more serious than before.
The Congress leader further remarked that the Government of India had discharged its responsibility in the matter but noted that the evolving situation on the ground continued to present significant challenges.
The INDIA bloc meeting is expected to bring together leaders from various opposition parties to discuss political developments, alliance coordination, and strategies for the coming months.
