Hyatt Hotels Corporation is set to foray into Sikkim with a new 150-room hotel in Gangtok, marking the global hospitality brand’s entry into the Himalayan state.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Sunday, March 1, virtually laid the foundation stone for the upcoming property. The hotel will be developed at Mintokgang as part of the Suryavilas mixed-use project, located around 2 km from MG Marg along the road leading to Tsomgo Lake.
Officials stated that the project is expected to boost high-end tourism infrastructure in the state and further strengthen Sikkim’s hospitality sector.
The Himalayan state recorded over 17 lakh tourist arrivals in 2025, including more than 71,000 foreign visitors, reflecting a steady rise in footfall and growing demand for premium accommodation facilities.
