Tree falls on vehicle amid severe weather in Sikkim, three injured

A tree fell on a vehicle in Sikkim injuring three amid heavy rain and strong winds. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors and are working to clear the affected area

Three people were injured after a tree collapsed onto a passenger vehicle at Chota Singtam in Pakyong district during strong winds and heavy rain on the evening of March 15.

Local residents rushed the injured to a nearby hospital soon after the incident. Their condition has not yet been officially confirmed.

Several parts of Sikkim experienced sudden weather changes with strong winds, heavy rainfall and hailstorms reported across multiple areas. The intense conditions led to trees being damaged and disrupted normal movement in several localities.

Residents reported heavy rain accompanied by hailstones, making travel difficult and leading to temporary power disruptions in some places.

Authorities have advised people to remain cautious while travelling as unstable weather conditions continue in parts of the state.
