NEW DELHI: Sportswear brand Adidas has announced that Tokyo Olympics Silver medallist Mirabai Chanu is going to be the face of Adidas ‘Stay in Play’ campaign to promote its ‘period-proof’ tights. The ‘Stay in Play’ range has been designed bringing in the brand’s latest product innovation to the front.

Chanu, who hails from Manipur, was also presented with a customised pair of weightlifting shoes at the Adidas promotional event, she announced on her Facebook page.

The brand aims to make women comfortable and to keep more menstruating women in sports. The new TechFit Period Proof tights, featuring an absorbent layer has been designed to help protect against leaks when worn with a tampon or pad, Adidas said in a statement.

Adidas carried out two years of product development for this new launch, it said in a statement. The collection is designed to enable girls and women to continue to engage in sports throughout the month and the line has launched in select Adidas stores across the country as well as online.
