BCCI preparing structured roadmap ahead of 2027 ODI World Cup: Secretary Devajit Saikia

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has begun preparations for the ICC ODI World Cup 2027 with a structured long-term roadmap aimed at ensuring sustained match exposure and team readiness ahead of the tournament.
Speaking on the team’s preparations for the marquee event scheduled to be held in October-November 2027, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that the board has put in place a planned pathway leading up to the World Cup and has already lined up an adequate number of international fixtures.
Saikia stated that the BCCI is focused on maintaining continuity in preparation through scheduled bilateral engagements and strategic planning in consultation with the team management.
Referring to the immediate calendar, he noted that the Indian squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series in England has already been announced. The matches are scheduled to be played between July 14 and July 19.
He added that the selection process and preparation strategy are being carried out collectively, with the national selectors working in coordination with the support staff and the head coach to ensure alignment on long-term objectives.
