Two killed in Agartala crash, police probe alleges use of government car for driving lessons
A car allegedly driven by a senior Tripura Police official's minor daughter crashed on Akhaura Road, killing two people and injuring several others. Police are now probing claims that a government vehicle was being used for driving lessons on a busy city road.

Two people were killed, and several others injured after a car allegedly driven by the minor daughter of a senior Tripura Police official crashed on Akhaura Road in central Agartala on August 31, police said.
The accident occurred under the jurisdiction of West Agartala Police Station during a busy period, causing tension in the area. An e-rickshaw driver was among those reportedly injured in the crash.
Police personnel reached the spot soon after receiving information and brought the situation under control. West Agartala Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sanjit Sen said the minor was reportedly learning to drive when the accident took place.
The police are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the alleged use of a government vehicle for driving lessons at a busy time and on a major road in the heart of the state capital.
The girl, reportedly a Class X student at a private school in Agartala, was allegedly behind the wheel when the accident occurred.
The identities of the two deceased and the other injured people were not immediately available.
Police said an investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and determine responsibility for the accident.
