AN-32 Crash| Search operation to continue through night

Guwahati, June 3, 2019:

The Indian Air Force is coordinating with Indian Army as well as various government and civil agencies to locate the missing AN-32 aircraft on Monday.

A communiqué from IAF confirmed that the search operations from air and by ground parties of Indian Army are planned to continue through the night.

Two Mi-17 aircrafts of the Indian Air Force and ALH helicopters of the Indian Army have been pressed into service to locate the missing aircraft.

“Some ground reports were received on the possible location of a crash site. Helicopters were routed to the location, however, no wreckage has been sighted so far,” the IAF communiqué stated.

The wreckage of the aircraft has reportedly been spotted at Payum in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district by a helicopter. Payum is located close to the Indo-China border.

One AN-32 Transporter aircraft of Indian Airforce went missing at Arunachal Pardesh on Monday. The aircraft took off at around 1 pm from Jorhat district in Assam with 13 defence personnel.
