ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the Border Road Organisation (BRO) chief engineer over the Kimin issue.

The student body has lodged the FIR against the BRO Chief Engineer Pramod Kumar and other officials of Project Arunak as well.

(AAPSU) has served a 10 days ultimatum to the BRO, seeking an unconditional apology to the people of Arunachal.

AAPSU has also warned of state-wide protests otherwise.

AAPSU has also accused them of inciting communal tension between the people of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh by "renaming" a town Kimin in Arunachal Pradesh as ‘Bilgarh’ in Assam.

AAPSU accused the BRO of omitting the name of "Arunachal Pradesh" from all the milestones including the foundation stones, notices boards, etc in Kimin by way of covering the same with white paper sticker during the visit of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to the state on June 17 to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Kimin-Potin road work at the ITBP centre in Kimin by the BRO.

Arunachal and Assam chief ministers have agreed to hold talks upon the issue as proposed by the Arunachal CM Khandu to his Assam counterpart earlier this week.
