Arunachal man shoots lover's kin for encouraging breakup

ITANAGAR: A man allegedly shot his girlfriend's kin for supporting her in ending the relationship with him.

Reportedly, the incident took place in Arunachal capital wherein one Nabam Lyngdoh was shot to death by a miscreant Taba Sanjay.

Talking to our correspondent SP.Jimmy Chiram (IPS) said, "On 21 August 2021 at around 8:30 PM a minor girl of 17 years old, came to the Police Station in Nirjuli and reported that one Taba Sanjay who she was in a relationship with, had come to the residence of her brother in law, Nabam Lyngdoh and shot him, leading to his death".

The SP informed that the incident took place around 6:30 PM on Saturday, On receipt of the information the team from Naharlagun along with SDPO, OC SI, and the police team moved towards the village and apprehended the accused Taba Sanjay, and recovered the weapon, a bore gun, and a dao"

Sources confirmed, that accused Taba Sanjay and the complainant were in a relationship for almost two years, and recently their relationship was facing some going through a rough patch.

Reportedly, the deceased Nabam Lyngdoh and the complainant's elder sister were in support of the breaking up of their relationship, and this agitated and flustered the accused Taba Sanjay in performing the crime blatantly.

"There was some apprehension of the law and order from the victim's relatives, so we have handled it carefully, especially Nahrlagun PS has done a wonderful job in solving the case in the shortest time", further said the SP.

Reportedly, many have taken to streets seeking justice for the victim.
