ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 tally in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 18,062 as 165 more people, including eight security personnel, tested positive for the disease over the past 24 hours.
As many as 43 new cases were reported from Lower Dibang Valley district, 44 from the Capital Complex Region, 13 from West Kameng, 12 from Papumpare, nine from Lohit, seven from Changlang, six from Tawang, five each from Lower Subansiri and Longding, three each from Anjaw, Tirap, West Siang, East Siang and Namsai, and one each from Upper Siang, Pakke Kessang, East Kameng, Upper Subansiri, Lower Siang and Kra Daadi districts of the state.
Two Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) personnel, who had returned from Bihar, are among who tested positive for the infection.
On the other hand, six army men have also contracted the disease.
The state now has 966 active cases while 58 patients have succumbed to the disease so far.
A total of 17 people recuperated from the disease yesterday taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 17,038.

Altogether, 4,47,019 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the state till now, including 3,692 yesterday.
A total of 54,643 persons have been fully inoculated in the state so far.
