The Power Department in Arunachal Pradesh will shut down the 132 KV Ziro-Daporijo transmission lines. This will result in complete power cut in at least ten districts on July 25 and 26.
According to official sources, the districts, which will be hit, are Kamle, Upper Subansiri, West Siang, Siang, Upper Siang, East Siang, Lower Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai. The sources also said that power supply would also be disrupted in those districts from 8 am of July 27 till 4 pm of July 28.
“The 146th OCC of the NERPC has approved the shutdown at the request of the Department of Power for carrying out major repairing of Tower No 57, Ziro, which was damaged by a cyclonic storm on March 6,” the department said in a release.
As the Power Grid will also carry out maintenance work on its system during that period, the 132 kv transmission line from RHEP to Ziro would be shut down between 8 am to 4 pm from July 25-28. This will disrupt power supply to Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts during daytime on those days.
