Northeast Indian Leaders Pay Tribute to 'Chacha Nehru' on His 130th Birth Anniversarynortheast

Guwahati, November 14, 2019:

The entire nation came together to pay tribute to 'Chacha' Jawaharlal Nehru, on the occasion of his birth anniversary on November 14. Leaders from the eight Northeast Indian states too have wished 'Chacha Nehru' on his 130th birth anniversary.

November 14, which is also celebrated as Children's Day due to his love for children, was celebrated across the nation today. Children's Day is celebrated in India to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children.

Northeast Indian leaders also paid tribute to the former Prime Minister via social media. Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, in a post wishing the children of the nation on Chacha's birthday, said that as parents and teachers, we must realize our responsibility in being role models for our children and shaping their thoughts and values as they become pillars for the growth of our nation.

Also paying tribute to Nehru on his 130th birthday, Sangma wrote that the beloved leader "advocated for a fulfilled childhood and high education for our children"

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, wrote on Twitter, "Remembering India's first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary. I wish a Happy

Tripura Chief Minister, Biplab Deb, taking to Twitter, tweeted, "Children are like buds in the garden, and should be carefully, lovingly nurtured".
