As Arunachal Pradesh gears up for the grand Dree Festival celebrations tomorrow, the Apatani Heritage Tower (AHT) — a rising cultural landmark dedicated to the Apatani community of Ziro Valley — has been temporarily opened to the public at the Dree Ground, Capital Complex in Itanagar.
The opening has added to the festive spirit, offering visitors a unique opportunity to climb up to the tenth floor of the tower and view the majestic statues of an Apatani man and woman, representing the vibrant heritage and identity of the Apatani people.
The public viewing will remain open until the evening of July 5, after which the site will be closed to resume construction and final finishing works starting July 6.
The AHT is expected to be a significant cultural attraction once completed, symbolising the traditional lifestyle, attire, and values of the Apatani tribe, and boosting tourism and cultural pride in the region.
