In a move towards improving urban sanitation, Arunachal Pradesh’s Urban Affairs Minister, Balo Raja, flagged off 46 new municipal garbage vehicles at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre in Itanagar today. The event was attended by Itanagar MLA and Advisor to the Urban Affairs Minister, Techi Kaso.
These sanitation vehicles have been procured under the Swachh Bharat Kosh (SBK) initiative, aimed at enhancing waste collection and disposal efficiency across urban towns in the state. Addressing the media, Minister Raja emphasized that this initiative would strengthen Arunachal Pradesh’s sanitation infrastructure and contribute to cleaner and healthier cities.
Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his unwavering commitment to urban development, Raja highlighted the state’s efforts toward sustainable and hygienic urban spaces. He also urged citizens to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness by adopting proper waste segregation and disposal practices.
"This initiative aligns with the Swachh Bharat Mission - Urban under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Let’s all do our part in ensuring a cleaner and greener Arunachal Pradesh," Raja stated.
