Arunachal launches skill training to make youth globally competitive

The Arunachal Pradesh Government has launched a two-month skill development training programme aimed at equipping local unemployed youth with industry-specific skills in printing and binding, with the goal of enhancing their global employability and entrepreneurship potential.

The initiative, jointly organised by the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Department of Printing and Stationery, will provide specialised training in offset machine operation and binding work to 35 local youths. Thirteen resource persons have been inducted to train the participants in both the offset and binding sections.

The inauguration ceremony of the programme was attended by key officials, including Nyali Ete, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Information and Public Relations; Bullo Mamu, IRS, Secretary of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Sibe Passing, Joint Secretary-cum-Director of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Gijum Tali, Director of IPR; and Heri Maring, Deputy Director of the Department of Printing and Stationery, among others.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Bullo Mamu (IRS), said the initiative would give participants hands-on experience in printing technology, enabling them to secure employment or establish their own printing ventures. “This is the first of its kind in the state and will help transform the skill landscape by making our youth industry-ready,” he added.

Participants undergoing the training expressed gratitude to both departments for launching the initiative, stating that the programme has given them hope and a valuable opportunity to acquire practical skills that can open doors to sustainable livelihoods.
