Arunachal: SP Kamdam Sikom leads bridge repair to ensure safe voting access

Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamdam Sikom from East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh took charge of repairing a dilapidated bamboo hanging bridge to ensure smooth access for voters during repolling in the area. This initiative, approved by senior authorities including Bishwajeet sir, aimed to provide a safe pathway for voters in the East Kameng district, particularly in areas crucial for the electoral process.

The situation unfolded as preparations were underway for re-polling in East Kameng district's Sario polling station. The aging bamboo bridge, a vital link for villagers to reach the polling stations, had faced neglect for over two decades, causing difficulties for residents, especially during adverse weather conditions and overflowing rivers.

SP Kamdam Sikom, along with dedicated personnel, worked tirelessly day and night to restore the functionality of the bridge. This effort was crucial as the bridge served as the only means for villagers to cross the river and exercise their democratic rights during the repolling on April 24.

The local community appreciated the move but also questioned the failure of concerned authorities to address the longstanding issue of the bridge's disrepair, which had become a lifeline for many villagers in the region.

SP Kamdam Sikom's proactive approach and leadership were evident throughout the repair process, reflecting his commitment to serving the community and ensuring the success of democratic processes in the region.

The bridge repair initiative, led by SP Kamdam Sikom, played a crucial role in facilitating the successful conduct of re-polling for the Arunachal Pradesh assembly and parliamentary elections, particularly in the 8th Bameng Assembly Constituency of East Kameng District.
