Heavy rains sever key route linking Lower Siang and Lepa Rada in Arunachal

Incessant rainfall has led to the closure of a crucial road near the Garo area, severing connectivity between Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Siang and Lepa Rada districts. 

The disruption has significantly impacted vehicular movement along the Basar–Aalo–Tirbin route, a vital corridor for transport in the region.

This stretch has long served as an important link for local communities, and the current conditions have made travel hazardous.

With continuous downpours posing landslide and flood risks, authorities have advised the public to avoid non-essential travel until further notice.

Emergency services are closely monitoring the situation. Restoration and repair work will begin once weather conditions improve, officials stated. 

Meanwhile, the district administration has urged all travellers to remain alert and adhere strictly to government advisories for their safety.
