Safety advisory issued in Arunachal’s East Kameng as Pakke River swells

In light of the continuous heavy rainfall, authorities have issued a safety advisory for commuters in the East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, especially around the Pakke Bridge in Bameng.

Recent video footage shows the Pakke River flowing aggressively under the bridge, raising serious concerns about travel safety across multiple villages and stretches in the region.

All commuters are urged to exercise extreme caution, particularly those using light motor vehicles. Night-time travel should be avoided unless absolutely necessary, as visibility and road conditions may pose additional risks.

The advisory strongly recommends against the use of heavy vehicles until the situation stabilises. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation and have urged the public to remain alert and prioritise safety.
