Storm havoc in Arunachal’s Lohit: Crops flattened, homes damaged, public alert issued

A powerful storm accompanied by heavy rainfall and hailstones has caused extensive damage to crops, houses, and infrastructure across the Lohit district in Arunachal Pradesh. 

Several areas, including Tezu township, reported severe destruction, prompting the district administration to issue an urgent public advisory.

The storm has led to a temporary disruption of essential services like electricity and water supply. Emergency teams from concerned departments are working around the clock to restore normalcy. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel until the situation stabilises.

"We request all citizens to remain calm, exercise patience, and stay updated through official channels. Your cooperation is crucial during this time," stated the District Administration.

Tezu-Sunpura MLA and Advisor to the Health Minister, Dr. Mohesh Chai, conducted a survey of the affected areas in Tezu township today. Dr. Chai assured that all possible assistance will be provided to the victims to help them rebuild their lives.

The administration continues to monitor the situation closely and has assured timely updates as restoration efforts progress.
