GUWAHATI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah who is on a two-day visit Assam and Meghalaya, will address two public rallies today in Assam’s Kokrajhar and Nalbari. Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati in the early hours of Saturday.
Shah will be attending the one-year celebration of the signing of the Bodo Peace Accord at the Green Field in Kokrajhar. The accord was signed in New Delhi on January 27 last year by representatives of Bodo organizations with the Central and Assam government.
The agreement include the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), the United Bodo People’s Organisation (UBPO) and all the four factions of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB).

On Saturday, Shah rolled out the ‘Ayushman CAPF’ scheme at a function in Guwahati, extending the benefit of the central health insurance programme to the personnel of all armed police forces in the country.
Informing this, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Under #AyushmanCAPF, CAPF personnel and their families can now avail cashless medical treatment in any #PMJAY and CGHS empanelled private hospital. Our gratitude to PM Sri @narendramodi and HM Sri @AmitShah for this special scheme.”
