GUWAHATI: The 36 hours Dimaraji (Dimaland) bandh called for October 5 and 6 has been withdrawn.
The bandh has been withdrawn after discussion with Dilip Nunisa, Chairman Ex DHD, and Additional Director General of Police (SB) Hiren Nath, IPS.
Nath took part in the discussion on behalf of the Assam government.

Assam government assured for holding talks with DHD on October 8, 2021, for the implementation of MOS.
Moreover, Nunisa requested a meeting to monitor the progress of the Accord signed with them in 2013.
The Principal Secretary, Home, and Political have called a meeting on October 8 in this regard.
The bandh was called by the Ex-DHD citing the demands given below:
Creation of separate Dimaraji(Dimaland)State within Indian Union under 2nd and 3rd Articles of the Indian constitution.
The Implementation of Memorandum of settlement.
Rehabilitation of former DHD/DHD (J)cadres as per MOS.
Demands for full-fledged Autonomous Council of Barman Dimasa Kachari Development Council outside of Dima Hasao district.
