BONGAIGAON: Bongaigaon Police today arrested as many as four persons who were allegedly involved in the recent gold chain-snatching case in Abhayapuri town of Bongaigaon district of Assam.
The accused persons have been identified as--Mohor Ali, Ajidul Malla alias Laden, Amir Hamza Malla alias Amir Ali, and Roshan Singh alias Babu, all from Bongaigaon.
They do, however, reside in a number of locations throughout the state such as --Barpeta, Tikirghila, Meghalaya, Dhurbi, Golaghat, etc.
Based on a follow-up procedure and a source information the Bongaigaon police team led by OC, Bongaigaon Upen Kalita, and T S I. Kulendu Huajuri successfully arrested the dacoity team from various parts of Bongaigaon today.
Police have also recovered a two-wheeler without a number plate, housebreaking instruments, vehicle breaking key, two mobile handsets, and many other instruments.

Speaking to the media Sonowal said, " During the interogation, the dacoity team has revealed that they planned something big for the Durga Puja festival days."
Police arrested one of the dacoity team members yesterday, and after he named the other three during interrogation, the other three dacoity members were arrested today based on their past criminal records and as a preventive measure during the Durga puja, said DSP, Bongaigaon Luna Sonowal.
The dacoity team has admitted to being involved in the two gold chain snatching cases that occurred in town recently.
